Need an Emergency Locksmith in Burwood East?

Emergencies rarely happen at a convenient time. A key snaps in the front door at 10pm, a back door is forced while you are at work, or a shop roller door lock fails at closing. Our emergency locksmith line is answered 24/7, and the first job is always the same: work out what is happening, make the property safe, and agree on a fair next step before any work starts.

01

What counts as a locksmith emergency

An emergency is any situation where a property cannot be secured, or someone cannot get in when they need to. That includes being locked out with a child or pet inside, a door that will not lock overnight, a lock damaged in a break-in, or a business that cannot close its premises. If you are unsure, call and describe it. We will tell you honestly whether it needs attention now or can safely wait until morning.

02

Securing a property after a break-in

After a forced entry the priority is to make the door lockable again the same day. That might mean replacing a damaged cylinder, refitting a strike plate that has been torn out of the frame, or fitting a temporary lock until a permanent repair can be arranged. Police should be called first if the break-in has just happened. Keep the damaged parts, as your insurer may ask about them.

03

Broken and jammed keys

A key that breaks inside a cylinder can usually be extracted without replacing the lock. The cylinder is then checked, because keys normally break when a lock is already stiff or worn. If the pins are damaged, a repair or rekey stops the same thing happening next week. A spare key that is worn thin is another common culprit, and we can cut a fresh key from the code or a good original.

04

After-hours work and pricing

Work outside office hours costs more than a booked weekday visit because someone is leaving home at short notice. You will be told the call-out price, or the likely range, on the phone before anyone is sent. If the situation can safely wait until office hours, we will say so, because that is usually the cheaper option for you.

03

What happens, in order

  1. 1.You call and describe the door, lock and situation.
  2. 2.We give an honest arrival estimate and the price before dispatching.
  3. 3.On arrival we confirm you are entitled to access the property.
  4. 4.We open, repair or secure the door using the least damaging method.
  5. 5.We check the lock works and explain any follow-up worth considering.

What we will not do

  • We will not open a property without reasonable proof that you are entitled to enter.
  • We also will not promise an arrival time we have not confirmed with you on the call.
  • We will not replace a lock in an emergency when a repair will safely do the job.
