Question 1

Do you offer a 24/7 emergency locksmith service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Emergency lockouts are handled 24/7 on 03 4422 2837. Our office hours for quotes and booked work are 8:00am to 7:00pm seven days, with Friday until 7:30pm.

Question 2

Will I need to prove I live at the property before a lockout opening?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Before opening any door we ask for reasonable proof that you are entitled to enter, such as ID showing the address, a lease or a rates notice. It protects you as much as the property.

Question 3

Can you get me back in without damaging the door?

Accepted Answer

In most lockouts entry is made without damage to the door. Some high-security locks or failed mechanisms leave no non-destructive option, and if that is the case we explain why before anything is done.

Question 4

What is the difference between rekeying and replacing a lock?

Accepted Answer

Rekeying changes the pins inside the existing lock so old keys stop working and new keys do. Replacing swaps the whole lock. Rekeying is usually the cheaper choice when the lock itself is in good condition.

Question 5

Do you give a price before starting work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You will be told the price, or the price range and what it depends on, before any work begins. Nothing is fitted or charged without your agreement.

Question 6

Can you repair a lock instead of replacing it?

Accepted Answer

Often. Stiff keys, worn latches and misaligned strikes can usually be repaired. If a lock is broken beyond sensible repair or parts are unavailable, we will say so and explain the options.

Question 7

Do you work on rental properties?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We regularly rekey and repair locks in rentals. Renters should check with their rental provider or agent before changing locks, and we can liaise with agents when asked.

Question 8

Do you service businesses and offices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Shops, offices, clinics and warehouses can arrange commercial lock repairs, replacements, rekeying and master key systems.

Question 9

Which suburbs do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We are based in Burwood East and work across Burwood, Forest Hill, Vermont South, Blackburn South and Glen Waverley. Call to check an address outside these suburbs.

Question 10

How quickly can you arrive?

Accepted Answer

It depends on where we are and what is already booked. We will give you an honest estimate on the call and will not promise a time we have not confirmed.

Question 11

What should I tell you when I call?

Accepted Answer

Your address, the type of door and lock, what is happening, and whether anything urgent is involved, such as a child, pet or appliance left on inside.

Question 12

Do you install window locks?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We fit keyed locks to timber, aluminium sliding and awning windows, and can restrict how far windows open for child safety and ventilation.

Question 13

Will you show me how to open a lock myself?

Accepted Answer

No. We do not publish or teach lock bypass methods. That information helps burglars far more than homeowners.
